Rising country star Jake Hoot has shared a new song, 'Somethin' We Can Slow Dance To', from his debut EP Love Out of Time.
Like the song proclaims, Hoot offers a tempo and mood ideal for slow dancing. That's not to say it's not a traditional country turn from the exciting singer - mixing a smokey atmosphere with a slow-burning guitar for a nostalgic real feel. “It is such a fun, lighthearted song,” he said. Hoot wrote the song with producers Danny Myrick and Olivia Rudeen.
Hoot previously won The Voice in December 2019. He originally moved to Tennessee to play football in college before focusing on a career in music. That included performing as a wedding singer, where he met his future fiancée Brittney Nicole Hoyt. The two recently got engaged in September 2020, according to People.
Hoot’s EP also features duets with his coach Kelly Clarkson on 'I Would’ve Loved You' and with fellow contestant Ricky Duran on 'La Bamba”.
Love Out of Time is out now via MLH Records.
