On an especially luminous 2023 CMT Awards ceremony, one of the brightest stars of the evening was undoubtedly Megan Moroney as she serenaded viewers with her hit single, ‘Tennessee Orange’.

Although the RAM Side Stage does not usually receive quite the same level of attention as the main stage performances, Moroney still managed to put on a captivating display as she delivered the warm, endearing lyrics to the football-themed love-story.

‘Tennessee Orange’ was one of the stand-out songs from 2022, and serves as one of the lead singles from Moroney's eagerly awaited debut album, Lucky, which is set to be released on May 5.

The project will also feature recently released singles, such as the playful ‘I'm Not Pretty’ and the honk-tonkin’, anthemic title-track.

It'll be supported by Moroney's 2023 Lucky Tour, which will take her across the US, while the country prodigy will also make her UK debut at the Long Road Festival in August.

The rising star's ascent seems to be picking up pace each week that goes by, with Moroney having also impressed during her first ever Grand Ole Opry performance earlier this year.

Moroney's eye-catching CMT performance is a testament to her meteoric ascent over the past six months, as is the fact that the singer-songwriter arrived in Texas with two nominations under her belt, and left with her first ever CMT award for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year.

If this stellar but brief appearance is anything to go by, this time next year, Megan Moroney will surely be stepping onto the main-stage at the 2024 CMT Awards.
